Tamara stood in the paper goods aisle, completely frozen. She had driven her champagne colored four door 2010 Toyota Camry (purchased used, a dirty little secret Tamara kept well guarded) to Kroger with a small list of so-and-sos to pick up. Everything was going well, until she reached the last item on her beautifully crafted list. Paper Napkins. “Oh dear,” Tamara thought to herself, twisting her perfectly nude-beige oval shaped pinky nail with her opposing hand. “The 250 pack for $3.59? The 400 pack for for 4.99? Pastel blue? Soft green? My god… These ones have a sweet little print of forks and spoons in peach and yellow….” Tamara knew she had been standing immobile at least 10 minutes, but her embroidered tan suede clogs (with a conservative but flattering 1.5 inch wedge) would not budge. She swayed back and forth, crossed her arms, adjusted her hair tastefully, and the anxiety only mounted. “Get a grip, Tamara,” She said to herself. She reached for the baby pink 300 pack, but quickly put it back. “Tacky.” She grabbed the simple cream colored 400 pack, but her adorable charm bracelet caught on the store shelf. “This is a sign. Do not get this pack.” Tamara said to herself, feeling relieved to have avoided that gently prophesized crisis. After a few more minutes of deliberation, the answer became so clear that her fuss was almost embarrassing. “Pale Almond! 500 pack! Of course!” Tamara laughed out loud to herself, selected her pack (carefully moving aside the first to take the one behind it). You see, Tamara’s almond colored hair, dining room and car just begged for Pale Almond napkins. And the reason for the 500 pack? To keep extras in the glove compartment, of course! Say goodbye to those unattractive yellow Wendy’s napkins! Today will be a good day for Tamara.
